Although our group had been formed expressly for the purpose of supporting a large ERP implementation, it never had real support from the top.  Through persistent education, evangelizing and a fortunate set of circumstances, we were able to sell a business case for pursuing a formal data quality program.  \nThis gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of focusing on improving information by measuring the quality of data, engaging the right people, and incorporating the data disciplines early on in critical projects.  By staying true to our 'training plan' and not giving up on the goal, we are seeing signs of real adoption.  We have made it through our first 5k and are aiming for a marathon!
